Teamwork Assistant
About the role
Our Village (previously St Kilda Mums, Geelong Mums, Eureka Mums) is seeking an adaptable and passionate Teamwork Assistant to support our volunteering experience.
Reporting to the Community Engagement and Operations Manager, this role will be responsible for the supervision of the corporate and community volunteers while onsite for volunteering activities. This includes hosting corporate and school groups, and guiding and training them during their time volunteering with Our Village. Ensuring a positive experience for volunteers is key to this role, as is the efficient and safe operation of our warehouses.
What you’ll be doing
- Supervise and train workplace volunteers in areas such as:
- Cleaning and repairs of donated items, ensuring high-quality and safety standards are met.
- Sorting donated items efficiently and accurately.
- Creating bundle packs for distribution, considering the needs of recipients.
- Follow established health and safety guidelines, including manual handling, ensuring compliance at all times.
- Clearly and respectfully communicate with volunteers, staff, and other stakeholders.
- Foster a positive and inclusive work culture, promoting teamwork and collaboration.
What we’re looking for
- Previous experience in a warehouse or similar environment is preferred.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal skills, and capacity to work well in a team setting.
- Ability to work with a range of volunteers.
- Physically fit and capable of performing manual handling tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to adapt to changing priorities.
- Working with Children Check and Police Check

Our Village collects, sorts, and redistributes essential nursery equipment, clothing, books, and toys for babies and children in response to requests from a statewide network of social workers and Maternal & Child Health Nurses.
